Christianity v. Jainism
I have selected Christianity and Jainism, a pair of the major world religions since the two beliefs I would like to compare. I selected these two made use of because of my personal familiarity with Christianity and my personal interest in wanting to learn more about Jainism. I started my study by curious about about their similarities but ended up learning much more about their distinctions.
I will start by giving a short summary on each of your religion then I will list and explain three variations in their views on perfection, morals in Gods, and lastly their particular beliefs about nonviolence. Last but not least, I will notify the reader how these differences affect the persons within the faith.
First, a few take a look at Christianity. It is a monotheistic religion that started almost 2000 years ago. In the book, Living Religions, this states Christianity as a faith based religion that focus its' views on the life and views of Jesus Christ (Living 295). Christians ought to make every effort to be like Jesus. The ideas that Christians consider about Jesus (his your life and teaching) are based on biblical text (Living 297). The Bible, which contains the educating of Jesus through scriptures and text message, has been referred to as the divinely inspired Phrase of Our god. Christians believe Jesus is a Son of God and this God produced all things (Konig).
Jainism, alternatively, is a nontheistic religion. It is just a non-Vedic faith that extracted out of India. You cannot find any creator or destroyer (Living 122). Jainism is certainly one of India's most ancient and was one of its least known made use of but is actually becoming named a complete and fruitful path (Living 120).
Christianity and Jainism differ inside their beliefs about perfection. Christian believers believe that no-one except Christ is perfect. Christians believe that you will not reach that perfect state. Consider that so long as there are people, there will always be sin. The only way we can make to The almighty is through repentance of your sins...
